Trainings, Workshops, and Tutorials
There are many academic technology tools that can positively enhance teaching and learning.
Academic Outreach and Innovation (AOI) is here to help make using technology a positive and engaging experience for faculty and students. We provide an encouraging and safe learning environment where questions are welcomed and exploration is paramount!
Our training and innovation spaces provide a comfortable place to discover, develop, and practice new skills. We specialize in hands-on learning with knowledgeable trainers on hand to assist. We invite everyone—beginners and seasoned users—to learn more, and allow us the opportunity to work alongside you, making WSU a technologically diverse and enriching place to teach and learn.
AOI schedules a number of both face-to-face and virtual trainings throughout the year. But we also provide Training On Demand and Customized Trainings to groups, such as at departmental meetings or professional development days. This includes the opportunity to explore through our Mobile Test Kitchen. If you do not see a training you need, or want to schedule something for a group, please complete the Request Training form and we will contact you to learn more about your specific needs.
Specifically for Blackboard, AOI also provides 1:1 in-office help and a drop-in lab. Email firstname.lastname@example.org and a Blackboard Specialist will contact you within 24 business hours to schedule an office visit. Find drop-in lab hours here.
If you can’t attend training, or have a simple question or process you need clarification on, please access our Tutorials. Here you’ll find a rich resource filled with useful information to help you.
