Are you ready for distance delivery? Complete this readiness assessment, then utilize these resources to fill in any gaps. Readiness Assessment Have you taught online, or explored an online course? Visit a sample online course Have you uploaded your syllabus and course schedule to your course space? Do you have a plan for how you will communicate with your students? Have you communicated to your students where, when, and how you will be teaching? Students will need to know your expectations for how they interact with you and each other in the online environment, the work they will need to do to complete the course (particularly if it varies from what was expected face to face), and the frequency with which you’ll be present online. Are you expecting students to discuss course content with one another? Do you have a plan for delivering your course content? For synchronous/real-time lectures: Are you experienced with Zoom? Have you added Zoom to your Canvas menu? For asynchronous recordings, have you downloaded Panopto and reviewed the tutorials available? Have you thought about how you will engage your students? Group work, course discussions, videos, quizzes, etc. How will you assess learning? (eg, online exams, do you need proctoring, are assignment drop boxes set up)? Are you aware of any disability accommodations your students may have and what you’ll need to do to address them in the digital environment?
