Communication: Canvas Transition for Summer Courses ending after Aug. 21
AOI email dated March 30, 2021
Subject: Important: Your Summer Course [embedded course information]
Dear Faculty,
We are contacting you today regarding your [embedded course information] Summer 2021 course in Blackboard. WSU’s contract with Blackboard expires on August 21, 2021, which will impact your summer course. Therefore, to prevent a disruption to your LMS this summer, we strongly encourage you to transition your Summer 2021 course to Canvas now.
Step 1: Please contact your department course scheduler or campus course schedulers to get access to your Canvas course space.
Step 2: Once you have access to your Canvas course space, import our WSU campus-based template (encouraged, but optional).
Step 3: Migrate content into your Canvas course space. You can request content to be moved from Blackboard or follow instructions to transfer content from Blackboard to Canvas.
Step 4: Arrange your content to fit Canvas.
We want to ensure you are receiving the support you need through this transition, so please reach out if we can help in any way.
Resources you can take advantage of:
- Ask for Course Design assistance: aoi.li@wsu.edu
- Visit AOI’s On-Demand Support room
- Attend or view Canvas Training (Live and Recorded)
- View videos
- Review the Canvas Faculty Guide
Thanks for working with us through this transition.
Sincerely,
WSU Academic Outreach and Innovation Staff
